Nokia Forays Into New Category With Launch of 55-inch 4K Android TV Enabled Smart TV

2019 is the year where we got to see a lot of innovation in the smart TV market. One of the biggest releases of the year in India was OnePlus TV. Although there are many other Smart TV brands out there, and some are more prominent than the others like Xiaomi. A lot of other brands also followed on the footsteps to launch their own Smart TVs. As such, we got to see Smart TV debuts from the likes of Motorola as well. But now, joining this bandwagon is none other than the Finnish company HMD Global which has announced the launch of its Smart TV. Just like its other products similar to the smartphones, this Smart TV has been launched with the Nokia branding, and it comes with an emphasis on design and picture quality. There is no doubt about Nokia’s focus on design and aesthetics, and that suit is followed in the newly launched Smart TV as well. Nokia 55-inch 4K Smart TV Specifications and Features

When it comes to specifications of the Nokia Smart TV, we get to see a 55-inch 4K UHD screen with a panel which reaches a peak brightness of 400 nits. Inside the panel, driving this Smart TV is a quad-core processor. Apart from this, the Nokia Smart TV also comes with Dolby Vision Support, MEMC and Intelligent Dimming feature which makes up for great visual quality on the Nokia Smart TV panel. For the unaware, the intelligent dimming feature allows the TV to attain darker blacks and brighter highlights for sharper contrast and overall better picture quality. On the software front, the Nokia Smart TV comes with Android 9 based Android TV platform, meaning that the users of the TV will be able to access Google Play Store as well.

Talking about the stuff that comes inside the panel of the Nokia 55-inch 4K Smart TV, the company has detailed that the TV runs on 2.25GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage. For connectivity options, the users get three HDMI ports, two USB (2.0 and 3.0) ports, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.

Special Emphasis on Design

The other features which the Nokia Smart TV includes are Sound from JBL, a Wide Colour Gamut, Dolby Audio, DTS Trusurround, and the support for Google Assistant. There is also a special emphasis on the design as we mentioned above, and the TV comes with very slim bezels which lend it a premium look. There is also a 178-degree viewing angle on the TV screen as well.

Nokia Smart TV Pricing and Availability

As for the pricing of this new Smart TV from Nokia, the TV is going to be retailing for Rs 41,999. The TV would be available on Flipkart, where it has been teased, and the sale would start on December 10. Along with the TV, the buyers would also get a bundled stand as well as wall mount in addition to a Bluetooth remote that supports Google Assistant for voice input as well as control. As for the offers which will ship with the Nokia Smart TV, Flipkart has listed a 10% discount on prepaid transactions and a Complete TV Protection coverage that includes three years warranty against manufacturing defects and accidental damages which would be available only for Rs 999. It is worth noting that in the past few months, a lot of TV manufacturers have debuted 4K TVs in the 55-inch size range and some of the competition includes the Mi 4X 55-inch 2020 Edition, Sony Bravia X9000F 55-inch and more.
