Nokia has hinted that it would launch the Lumia 830 in India in October with a price tag of around Rs 26,000. The Lumia 830 has a 5-inch HD display, 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, the duo of 10MP PureView camera and a 1.9MP front camera, 1GB RAM, 16GB expandable memory and a 2200 mAh battery. Nokia Lumia 830 comes with the Lumia Denim update out-of-the-box on top of Windows Phone 8.1 operating system.
Since the device supports LTE Category 4 (1800MHz) connectivity, the Microsoft-owned Finnish firm is hoping to cash on Indian operators’ plans to launch high speed mobile data in the country.
Chris Weber, Vice President of Microsoft's Mobile Device Sales said, "We are trying to the push price point even lower on LTE devices like Lumia 635 to take advantage of that (Indian telecom operators plan to launch 4G services) opportunity. We have lot of conversations going on with operators but specifically we are very bullish on LTE opportunity in India. Our conversation had been quite productive.”
