Nokia one of worlds largest handset manufacturer announced its concern to acquire Novarra, the US based mobile web browser firm.The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Novarra is a privately-held company based in Chicago-USA, provides high performance mobile Internet browsers and platforms for operators, handset manufacturers and Internet brands to create new services and revenue streams for smart phones, features phones and mobile broadband devices.
Nokia will utilizing the acquired Novarra's to improve its browsing capability especially on the Nokia Series 40 phones which are the most used the world over.The solutions deliver a high quality mobile user experience for services including full rich web browsing, search, widgets, apps, video and advertising. Global, commercial deployments over eight years have proven consumer satisfaction, uptake and increased data service revenues ,due to its expertise and ground-breaking products for mobile Internet and cloud-based services for web, applications and advertising.
Novarra pioneered the distributed browsing architecture for mobile to alleviate network congestion, enable fast and intuitive web access, and bring rich web apps and widgets to mobile devices worldwide.
