Yeah, it all looks good on paper. But with MTNL, expect nothing else but shoddy services and indifferent customer service. For starters, you will get only 75-80% of the promised speeds, but will have to shell out 100% of the fees, month-after-month. Don’t expect any quick resolutions from the tech support engineers, whose training perhaps hasn’t gone beyond changing IP and DNS server addresses in router settings. And while you–the sucker–cry about it all, MTNL managers enjoy unheard of speeds in their homes. I personally know of a MTNL manager who uses a MTNL broadband connection at home and gets… Read more »

These truly ul plans are quite good though expensive but lower cost plans are still shit. In delhi, competitors are offering better value plans. My cousin is using Den cable broadband and he is pretty satisfied with the service and post FUP speeds. MTNL still has a lot of issues with its broadband too!

if you are using mtnl broadband please write to these following email addresses explaining this discrepancy. I have already sent them an email and looking at their MRTG statistics it seems plausible that they will implement a 2mbps no-FUP @ around 1200 rs per month + taxes maybe 26th January is the day theyre waiting for.

But it seems that they will implement a 1mbps cap on lower plans i.e. <1200 pm while giving 2mbps high speed quota and lower prices for 2mbps and 4mbps plans.

the more the merrier, customer demand can definitely help change plans and service.

Off topic :

What will be the outgoing call charge per minute to any number in the West Bengal circle when called from any network in Kolkata (using Tamilnadu SIM)?.

[For example :
You are using Aircel Tamilnadu SIM roaming in Aircel Kolkata circle and you are calling a number in West Bengal circle]

Rs.0.80 or Rs.1.15?.

Same way, what will be the outgoing call charge when using a Tamilnadu SIM roaming in Maharashtra circle to call a number in Mumbai circle?.
