After launching the Moto C and Moto C Plus entry-level smartphones in India, it now seems like the Lenovo-backed Motorola is gearing up to introduce the Indian tech markets to yet another lower mid-range smartphone. On Thursday, Moto India shared a teaser image of an upcoming Moto device on its official Twitter page, and that device is most likely the Moto E4 Plus.
Accompanied with an ‘oops’ tagline, the teaser image shows an image of an empty battery. This image has us inclined to believe that the upcoming Moto device will come with a huge battery. This, in turn, makes us deduce that the device is indeed the Moto E4 Plus as it features a mammoth 5,000mAh battery.
The official tweet reads, “A dead phone is the modern-day shortest horror story. We will ensure you don’t feel #Powerless again. What’s coming next? #StayTuned.” Sadly, the tweet does not disclose an exact date, time or venue of the smartphone launch event.
To recall, Moto E4 Plus was first launched early in June 2017 with a price tag of USD 179.99 (approximately Rs. 11,600). When it comes to the local markets, the Moto E4 Plus is expected cost somewhere in the Rs. 9,000 to Rs. 10,000 price range.
In terms of specifications, the Moto E4 Plus features a 5.5-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and 2.5D cover glass-coating on top. The handset is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 427 SoC, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The E4 Plus is also available in a 32GB internal storage variant. On the software front, the device runs Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box, baked with Google Assistant.
The Moto E4 Plus sports a 13MP rear sensor with autofocus, panorama, HDR support and a LED flash. On the front is a 5MP fixed focus selfie camera that also comes with a LED flash for low-light photography. The smartphone’s connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack and a micro-USB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer.
The Moto E4 Plus is a single-SIM smartphone that includes a front-mounted fingerprint sensor and is fueled by a high density 5,000mAh removable battery with 10W rapid charger support. The chances are massive that the E4 Plus will be unveiled with dual-SIM support in India.
