According to reports, Micromax will be launching its new brand ‘Yu’ tomorrow. The Micromax Yu will be based upon CyanogenMod, which means that it will be providing various customization options and updates to the customers. Micromax has an exclusive partnership with Cyanogen that has positively impacted Micromax’s reputation among the consumers. The new smartphone has been spotted on import/export website Zauba.

Micromax Yu

The listing on the website states that the Yu device is imported from China at a unit price of Rs. 8,301. The phone will boast a 5.5-inch display and microSD card support. It is a dual SIM smartphone with 4G LTE support.

We can expect the original price (after including various taxes) to be around Rs. 12,999, which seems legit for a 4G enabled device. One can expect decent specification for this device. Micromax is also making extra waves by pulling OnePlus One to the court to preserve its exclusive rights on Cyanogen, in order to eliminate the obvious competition. However, we can only hope that it proves worthy of all the tussle. What are your expectations with this upcoming smartphone? Let us know through your comments.
