As it promised, Meizu has launched three new smartphones in India today and one of them is the flagship smartphone- Meizu 16th. This phone is aimed at the OnePlus 6T and carries a price tag of Rs 39,999. The other two smartphones launched are Meizu M6T and Meizu C9 priced at Rs 7,999 and Rs 5,999 respectively. The Meizu 16th features flagship hardware such as Snapdragon 845 SoC, AMOLED screen, 12MP+20MP dual rear cameras and mCharge fast charging technology. It also sports an in-display fingerprint scanner same as the OnePlus 6T. Some of the drawbacks on Meizu 16th include the smaller 3010mAh battery and Android Oreo software. All the three Meizu smartphones are exclusive to Amazon in the sub-continent.

Meizu 16th: Specifications and Features

Talking about the specifications of the Meizu 16th, the phone rocks a 6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. The phone also offers an in-display fingerprint scanner, which we believe will not be as fast as the one on the OnePlus 6T. Underneath the smartphone, we have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, clubbed with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone comes in a single variant and it's priced at Rs 39,999. Thankfully, Meizu has added a microSD card slot which allows users to expand storage up to 128GB.

Moving onto the cameras, the Meizu 16th rocks dual cameras of 12MP+20MP on the back and the phone has a six-LED flash, something which we haven't seen on any smartphone in recent times. On the front, the Meizu 16th offers 20MP shooter for selfies and video calls.

As for the connectivity options, the phone offers Dual 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, GLONASS and USB Type-C port. The phone boots Android 8.1 Oreo-based Flyme OS 7 out of the box. Lastly, there's a 3010mAh battery with mCharge fast charging support that's rated to provide a 60% charge in 60 minutes or one hour.

Meizu 16th: Pricing and Availability

The Meizu 16th is priced at Rs 39,999 and it comes in a single variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Meizu has partnered with Amazon India and made all the three smartphones it launched today as Amazon Exclusive phones.

Meizu 16th: Competitors in India

Coming to the competitors of the Meizu 16th, the phone goes against the mighty OnePlus 6T whose 8GB+128GB variant is available for purchase at Rs 41,999. The OnePlus 6T also sports an AMOLED display, in-display fingerprint scanner, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, dual rear cameras and powerful selfie cameras. But what makes it a better buy than the Meizu 16th is the bigger battery and OxygenOS which is based on Android 9 Pie.

Meizu M6T, Meizu C9: Specifications and Features

Alongside its flagship unveiling, Meizu also announced a budget (Meizu M6T) and entry-level (Meizu C9) smartphones in India. Starting with the Meizu M6T, it rocks a 5.7-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio, MediaTek MT6750 chipset, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 13MP+2MP dual rear cameras, 8MP selfie camera and a 3300mAh battery. It's also an Amazon Exclusive smartphone priced at Rs 7,999 in the country.

Lastly, we have the Meizu C9, which is the Chinese brand's competitor to the Xiaomi Redmi 6A. Priced at Rs 5,999, the Meizu C9 offers a 5.45-inch HD+ display, UNISOC SC9832E processor, 3000mAh battery, stock Android and a 3000mAh battery. Meizu has announced an introductory offer on Meizu C9 and the phone can be purchased for Rs 4,999 for the first ten days. The Meizu C9 also offers a fingerprint scanner which makes it a decent buy.
