After witnessing awful response from the customers for its predecessor, LG is gearing up to launch its next flagship, the LG G6 at the Mobile World Congress 2017 event on February 26 held in Barcelona. And as we get closer to the event, more rumors have been surfacing online giving us some insights on what to expect from the handset.

Here’s everything we know so far about the LG G6 based on the words of the rumor mill.

Design and specifications
The company, for obvious reasons, is expected to ditch the modular design in favor of a more tried and tested mainstream design. As per the numerous leaks and renders, the LG G6 should don an all-metal unibody design with narrow bezels and rounded corners. LG had already confirmed that the handset will feature a 5.7-inch QHD LCD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. That’s a decent improvement from LG G5’s 16:9 aspect ratio.
Earlier, the LG G6 was rumored to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset. However, given that Samsung is hoarding the Snapdragon 835 chipset for its next flagship, the Galaxy S8, LG is believed to revert to the quad-core Snapdragon 821 chipset (2 x 2.35GHZ Kryo and 2 x 1.6GHz Kryo). Graphics will be taken care of by the Adreno 530GPU.

Given the trend in the industry, the LG G6 should pack at least 4GB of RAM, if not 6GB and 64GB of expandable storage space (up to 256GB). Also, these days, a flagship phone is incomplete without a dedicated AI-based voice assistant. It seems like the LG next flagship will be no exception. The rumor mill suggested that LG was in talks with Google to include Google Assistant on the G6. In fact, just a while ago, the company had unveiled a teaser which read “Less Artificial. More Intelligence,” confirming that the smartphone will get its own voice-assistant. Which one, is the question that remains to be answered.
