Lava Mobiles, with fame of Intel-powered XOLO smartphones has taken an big entry into the affordable smartphone arena with its Iris sub-brand. Lava International, maker of Lava Mobiles is planning to bring a whole new range of smartphones under its flagship smartphone brand - Iris. Under this brand all phones will be Android powered and come with minimum 1GHz processor while asthetically beautiful to match the needs of youths.
The first Iris phone is dubbed as Lava IRIS N350. It is an Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread running dual SIM (2G+2G, no 3G) smartphone. It features 1GHz processor, 3.5 inch HVGA LCD capacitive multi touch display, 2MP rear camera, 0.3 MP front camera, upto 32GB micro SD support, FM Radio with record, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, Gravity and Proximity sensor. All these are packed into 115x61.5x11.9 cm dimension and weigh just 115g. It includes a 1300 mAh battery.
There is no details on the processor except it is clocked at 1GHz. As it is an entry level smartphone, it is expected that N350 has MediaTek chipset. There is also no details on RAM and graphics processing unit.
Lava IRIS N350 is launched in the market, currently available on snapdeal.com for Rs 4399. There are another three Iris smartphones with 'coming soon' tag.
Indian handset companies - Micromax, Karbonn and other are creating sub-brands to promote their Android product range. It is obvious Lava does the same for its affordable smartphone range. It should be noted that Lava also has another brand Xolo for its Intel processor powered Android smartphones. Following Xolo X900, first Interl powered smartphone Lava is to bring Xolo X700, as it is spotted over online retailers.
