Home-based smartphone manufacturer Karbonn Mobiles has added a new member to its selfie series with the launch of the K9 Smart Selfie smartphone in India on Wednesday. As the name suggests, the phone is targeted at selfie-enthusiasts looking for a budget smartphone. The phone comes in the colour options of Black and Blue with a matte finish and is priced at Rs. 4,890.
The most notable feature of the K9 Smart Selfie is its 8MP selfie camera that offers features such as night shot mode for low-light selfies and beauty mode. On the rear, the device sports a 5MP shooter along with a LED flash. The smartphone packs a 5-inch FWVGA display with a screen resolution of 854 x 480 pixels.
Under the hood, the K9 Smart Selfie is powered by a 1.1GHz quad-core processor which is clubbed with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory. The phone also offers you eh option of further expanding the onboard storage up to 32GB via a microSD card slot. As for the software, the handset runs on Android 7.0 Nougat and is backed by a 2,300mAh battery. According to the company, the battery unit can deliver a talk-time of up to 8 hours and up to 180 hours of standby time.
When it comes to the connectivity, the K9 Smart Selfie supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, GPRS/EDGE, 3G, and is also 4G VoLTE compatible. The handset supports dual-SIM feature and also comes with an additional feature of inbuilt photo and video editor.
Interestingly, Karbonn had unveiled its Titanium Jumbo just last week, which was also targeted at selfie-lovers. Launched at a market operating price of Rs. 6,490, its specs include a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. In terms of camera, the handset packs a 13-ultrapixel rear camera as well as an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter for selfies.
