JioFiber Long-Term Broadband Plans, Should You Purchase

JioFiber’s long-term plans are some of the best in India. The long-term plans from the company offer users 30 days of free service without altering any benefits. But it doesn’t result in a lot of savings for the customers.

Highlights

  • The extra month offer is applicable on every 12 months plan of the company
  • Reliance Jio has been able to grow its fiber business exponentially in India
  • With the 6 months plan, users get additional service of 15 days

Reliance Jio has been able to grow its fiber business exponentially in India due to competitive pricing and also leveraging the rise in demand for broadband connections over the pandemic. JioFiber keeps on innovating with its offers to ensure that its customers are satisfied. The company offers users the option to choose between long-term and short-term plans. If you are someone who is confused about what kind of validity you should choose with JioFiber, let me make it simple for you.

JioFiber Long-Term Plans and Short Term Plans Difference

Usually, companies offer users long-term plans with discounts. But JioFiber has taken sort of a different approach to this. Instead of offering a huge discount when users go for the annual plans, the company adds another month of service for the user. So instead of 12 months, users will be entitled to receive services for 13 months.

This extra month offer is applicable on every 12 months plan of the company. Likewise, users going for the 6 months plan will get 15 days for free service from JioFiber. But there’s no such offer on the quarterly (3 months) plan.

There’s no additional benefit offered to the users going for the long-term plans. JioFiber doesn’t alter the benefits of the plan regardless of how long a user is purchasing it for. Here is how much you will have to spend on monthly, semi-annual, and annual plans from the company.

If you are purchasing the 150 Mbps plan from the company, you will have to pay Rs 999 per month. When you purchase the same plan for 6 months, you will have to pay a lump sum amount of Rs 5,994. Further, when you purchase the same plan for 12 months, you will have to pay a lump sum amount of Rs 11,988.

As evident, there’s no major difference in the monthly cost of the plan whether you purchase it for one month, 6 months, or 12 months. But with the 6 months plan, users get an additional service of 15 days (180 days + 15 days = 195 days) and with the 12 months plan, users will get 30 days of additional service (360 days + 30 days = 390 days).

So in a way, you save approximately Rs 1,000 for the one additional month you get with the 150 Mbps annual plan of the company.

The higher monthly cost plans will let users save even more. The only question is, should you purchase?

I would say this isn’t the best offer one can get in a long-term plan in India. But, JioFiber’s services are really excellent and hence there isn’t any harm in purchasing the 12 months plan from the company.
