Telecom operators in recent times are able to match Reliance Jio in the tariff plans department, however, when it comes to content, the Mukesh Ambani-owned telco is miles ahead of the incumbent telcos. Reliance Jio has two popular apps-JioTV and JioCinema for watching Live TV and latest movies & trailers in HD. JioTV is the leading Live TV app right now with over 650 channels, whereas JioCinema allows users to watch popular movies, TV shows and latest trailers in HD quality. According to the latest information, JioCinema now offers the entire movie catalogue of SunNXT. For the unaware, SunNXT is Sun TV Network’s OTT app competing with the likes of ZEE5, Amazon Prime and Netflix. While the other OTT services also deliver original shows, SunNXT is very much limited to movies from other distributors as it acquires the airing rights.

SunNXT Movie Catalogue Integrated to JioCinema

JioCinema is available exclusively to Reliance Jio prepaid, postpaid and broadband customers for free. Reliance Jio has launched both Android and iOS apps of JioCinema, alongside the web version which can be accessed via any desktop browser. JioCinema already has the best content available on any telco’s OTT app, beating the likes of Airtel Xstream and Vodafone Play. And now, with the movie catalogue of SunNXT integrated to JioCinema, it becomes even more unbeatable.

SunNXT acquires rights to air the popular South India movies and it’s one of the most preferred OTT services to watch movies in South Indian states. After this integration, JioCinema now displays a new SunNXT Superhits section inside the mobile app and website, allowing users to quickly watch the content from the OTT service for free. Right now, SunNXT is delivering content in five regional languages- Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Bengali. The OTT service also offers Live TV channels from Sun TV Network Limited, but JioCinema is an app for movies and TV shows, whereas the company has a separate Live TV app called JioTV.

Similar to other OTT services like ZEE5, Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, SunNXT is also available in a premium model. SunNXT yearly membership costs Rs 480, whereas for one month, the charges would Rs 49. Compared to other OTT services, SunNXT’s charges are on the lower side for sure. That said, Reliance Jio customers can now watch the SunNXT content for free on JioCinema app.

JioCinema App Offers Chromecast and Exclusive Disney Section

JioCinema is one of the feature-rich mobile apps as well, similar to JioTV application. At the end of 2018, Reliance Jio teamed up with Disney to launch a dedicated Disney section inside the JioCinema app. Right after logging into the JioCinema app, it will display two sections to choose- JioCinema or Disney. If a user chooses the Disney section, then all the content related to Disney will be showed.

Other features of the JioCinema Android app include Chromecast support. Yes, the JioCinema app supports Chromecast which allows users to mirror the screen on a Chromecast-supported Smart TV. Most of the Android TVs releasing these days come with Chromecast, so this feature comes in really handy to the users.

JioCinema offers content in various regional languages and the users have the flexibility to choose their own language at the time of logging into the app. The app also provides quality selection and resume features as well. As for the JioCinema web version, users will have the option to select multiple audio formats, but available only with select titles for now.
