Touch ID was executed through a physical button in the past, but now, the new generation iPhone would definitely come with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The iPhone 18 series is expected to launch later this year in September 2026. With the new iPhones, Apple could introduce the use of LPTO+ panels. This could pack the biometric sensor for fingerprint reading, along with an under display infrared sensor for Face ID.
