Idea has just introduced 4 new unlimited prepaid 3G packs for its Tamil Nadu circle. These 3G packs offer unlimited data consumption with reduced speeds post exceeding the fair usage policy limit. All these are valid for 28 days. Let us tell you what is on offer:

Idea Cellular

Idea 3G plan Details :

  • Rs 649 will get you 4GB of 3G data usage with the speed getting reduced to 40 kbps after that and it is reduced further to 10 kbps after 5GB (at this speed, you'd hardly be able to do anything).
  • Rs 851 will fetch you 6GB of 3G data and the speed will be reduced to 40 kbps upon exceeding it. After exceeding 7GB, the speed will be decreased to 10 kbps.
  • A recharge of Rs 1251 will allow you to use 3G data of 10GB with the speed getting reduced to 40 kbps after exceeding it and it is reduced further to 10 kbps after exceeding 11GB of data consumption.
  • Recharge with Rs 1501 and you can get yourself 12GB of 3G data whose speed will be reduced to 40 kbps after it hits the limit and it will go further south to 10 kbps after touching 13GB.

There was time when idea use to offer 3G internet plans at 2G rates now it looks like things are changing, though the new 3G packs from Idea make a lot of sense if your data consumption is usually restricted to the fair usage policy limits of the above mentioned packs but post that, they just don't make a lot of sense.
