Telecom operators in India are on a roll at the moment. After launching an array of new tariff plans for its users in the last few weeks, Idea Cellular, the country’s third largest telecom operator has now come up with a new scheme that offers 1.5GB data per day for 70 days, similar to Airtel’s plan.
One of our readers brought to our attention that Idea is now offering 1.5GB data per day, which will be valid for 70 days. This plan also offers unlimited voice calls within Idea to Idea network and 3000 minutes to other networks, which will also be valid for 70 days.
After the completion of 3000 minutes, voice calls will be charged at standard rates. Do make a note that this plan is only available for select Idea prepaid customers who will be informed about the offer via an SMS or a pop-up.
As said earlier, this scheme is aimed at Airtel’s Rs. 499 plan that offers 1.25GB data per day along with unlimited voice calling to any network across India. However, Airtel is offering the plan for only 56 days, whereas Idea is offering the same for 70 days. Besides, Idea’s plan also comes with 0.25GB extra data per day.
We have earlier reported that Airtel has silently decreased the validity period of its newly launched prepaid plans such as Rs. 244, Rs. 399, Rs. 499, etc. from 70 days to 56 days without any prior information to the customers.
Earlier this month, we have exclusively reported about the Idea’s Rs. 297 and Rs. 447 prepaid plans, which are also aimed to compete with Airtel’s Rs. 244 and Rs. 399 plans. The Rs. 297 plan in Idea offers 1GB data per day for 70 days along with unlimited on-net voice calling, while the Rs. 447 plans offer 1GB data per day and unlimited calling to any network across the country.
Idea Cellular has a slight advantage with the newly introduced Rs. 499 plan, when compared to Airtel. Have you received this offer from Idea? Let us know by commenting below.
