Alongside the flagship Huawei P20 Pro, Huawei, the Chinese brand also launched a mid-range smartphone Huawei P20 Lite to take on the likes of the Moto X4, Oppo F7 and Vivo V9 in the good-looking smartphone segment. Not only in terms of looks, but the P20 Lite competes with the Oppo F7 and Vivo V9 in the selfie camera department. The P20 Lite is priced at Rs 19,999 and will be exclusively available on Amazon India from May 3. The device comes in three colour options- Klien Blue, Sakura Pink and Mid Night Black and it's worth saying the device is by far the best looking one under Rs 20,000.
The Huawei P20 Lite sports a 5.8-inch display with a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The P20 Lite has a notch on top, in-line with what Oppo F7 and Vivo V9 is offering. Unlike the P20 Pro, the fingerprint scanner on the P20 Lite is placed to the back, but still, the device has a small chin on the front.
The P20 Lite is Huawei's fourth smartphone with the octa-core Kirin 659 SoC, and notably, it's also the expensive one till date. So now, Huawei has four smartphones with Kirin 659 SoC sitting between Rs 10,999 to Rs 19,999. The Honor 9i was the first one to launch with the Kirin 659 SoC, followed by the Honor 7X and the Honor 9 Lite earlier this year. The P20 Lite comes in a single variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There's a microSD card as well for storage expansion.
Huawei has upgraded the selfie camera setup on the P20 Lite when compared to the international version of the device. The smartphone offers a 24MP selfie camera on the front, and the sensor is Sony IMX578. To the back, we get a dual camera setup, pretty usual Huawei stuff of a 16MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary depth sensor. The front-facing 24MP is promised to deliver excellent low-light selfies with very low-noise. The device boots Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 out of the box, and Huawei has added several AI based features to the device to make it stand out from the crowd.
As stated, the fingerprint scanner on the P20 Lite is at the back, and it's a dual-SIM smartphone. The phone is backed by a 3000mAh battery and offers connectivity options such as 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB Type-C and GPS.
