As rumoured Huawei launched the Nova 4 in China on Monday. This is the first smartphone of the Nova series to come with a punch hole display but isn't the first smartphone by Huawei to come with such a display. The first smartphone by the company to come with an in-display selfie camera is the recently announced Honor View 20, which the company will be launching in India very soon. The key highlights of the Huawei Nova 4 are the in-display selfie camera and the 48 MP rear camera. Xiaomi has also confirmed to launch a 48MP camera phone in January next year.
Like some of the recently announced Huawei phones the Nova 4 also comes with a gradient design which gives the phone a premium touch. As of now, Huawei has launched the Nova 4 only on China and there's no information of the phone will hit other markets as well or not. To recollect the Nova 3 was launched in India, so chances of Nova 4 coming to the country are high. In China, the Nova 4 is already available for.pre orders and will go on sale by the end of this month.
Huawei Nova 4: Specifications and Features
As noted, the Nova 4 from Huawei comes with a punch hole display or in other words include an in-display selfie camera. On the rear panel, the smartphone has a sensor of 48MP. As far as the specs are concerned the Huawei Nova 4 comes with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 1080x2310 pixels and aspect ratio of 19.25:9. The smartphone includes an 86.3% screen-to-body ratio. On the hardware front the Huawei Nova 4 is powered by an octa-core HiSIlicon Kirin 970 SoC paired with four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 2.36GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. Huawei has launched the Nova 4 in just one variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which is expandable via microSD card.
The Huawei Nova 4 comes with dual-SIM support, and on the software front, the phone runs EMUI 9.0.1 based on Android 9 Pie out of the box.
On the camera front, the Huawei Nova 4 includes three cameras on the back panel. The Nova 4 comes in two camera variants- one with a 48MP primary camera with Sony IMX586 sensor while the second model comes with a 20MP sensor. In addition to the primary camera, there's a secondary 16MP 117-degree ultra-wide angle camera with a f/2.2 aperture and third 2MP depth sensor with a f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera setup of the Nova 4 comes packed with a single LED flash. The phone also comes packed with several features like EIS, 4K video support, AI beauty, 3D Qmoji, PDAF, among other things.
On the front, the Huawei Nova 4 includes a 25MP camera with a f/2.0 aperture The phone also includes several Connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C (v2.0), and 3.5mm headphone jack. The Nova 4 also features a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel right next to the triple camera setup and face unlock support as well. The phone is backed by a 3750mAh battery which promises to deliver a day-long battery backup.
Huawei Nova 4: Pricing and Availability
The Huawei Nova 4 has been launched with a price tag of CNY 3,399 which when translated to INR comes around Rs 35,300 for the 48MP rear camera variant. The 20MP camera model of the Nova 4 will retail at CNY 3,099 which when roughly translated to INR comes around Rs 32,200. The phone is already up on pre-orders in China and will go on sale by the end of the year. The Nova 4 will be available in four colours Huawei will make the smartphone available in Black, Blue, Red, and White colour variants.
