Honor View 10 Joins the List of Airtel VoLTE Supported Smartphones

Finally, a Honor smartphone received support for Airtel VoLTE in the country. Honor’s flagship smartphone, the Honor View 10 now supports Airtel VoLTE service as the smartphone is officially listed on Airtel’s website under the VoLTE supported smartphone section. But sadly, only the Honor View 10 currently supports Airtel VoLTE as other phones such as Honor 7X, Honor 9 Lite, Honor 9i, Honor 8 Pro, Honor 6X are not on the list. However, with Honor View 10 receiving the support, expect other phones to receive the VoLTE support on Airtel network with the next OTA update.

As you might be aware of, Airtel has to work with handset manufacturers to roll out the VoLTE support to a smartphone. And it’s been a long time since Honor users are requesting both the companies to add VoLTE support. Interestingly, Honor smartphones such as Honor View 10, Honor 9i, Honor 7X and Honor 8 Pro supports Vodafone VoLTE service.

Airtel is actively expanding the list of VoLTE supported smartphones. Already, popular smartphones from brands such as Apple, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Gionee, Oppo, Vivo, Lava, Karbonn, Zen, Nokia, Tecno, Lephone, Celkon, itel and Honor supports VoLTE service on Airtel network. Smartphones such as Apple iPhone X, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Mi A1, OnePlus 5 & 5T received the support a lot earlier.

As of now, Airtel is offering VoLTE service in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Karnataka and Chennai areas. The company promised to offer pan-India coverage by the end of March 2018, but that seems to be an impossible task at the moment.

Chakri is a go-to guy for your next smartphone recommendation. Back in his engineering days, he used to play with smartphones by installing custom ROMs and that passion got him into the tech industry. He still goes nuts about a smartphone knocking his door for review. Currently managing everything at Telecom Talk, Chakri is trying to master PUBG Mobile in his free time.

Airtel Should not mislead customers by putting a press release that Volte is available in Karnataka. Launching a service in 2sqkm area is not a good Launch. Service Launch means it should at least cover 75% area. Don’t waste your time with Airtel for volte.
