Honor has announced the Honor View 10 smartphone earlier this month, alongside the Honor 7X at a global event in London. At the same event, it also stated that the Honor View 10 would be available in India starting January 8 at a global price of EUR 499. It now seems like the Honor View 10 will be exclusive to Amazon India as the company has announced the commencement of registrations for the View 10 on the e-commerce portal starting tomorrow.
At a global price of EUR 499, the View 10 will be a strong competitor to the OnePlus 5T. Honor may launch the smartphone at an aggressive price in India as it did with the earlier Honor smartphones. If Honor launches the Honor View 10 below Rs 30,000, it will become a de-facto option. If it goes beyond Rs 35,000, then we have the OnePlus 5T as a no frills attached smartphone.
The Honor View 10 will be the company's first flagship smartphone to launch in India in 2018, and it will replace the Honor 8 Pro. The highlight of the View 10 is the Kirin 970 chipset which has a dedicated Neural-Network Processing Unit (NPU) to take care of Artificial Intelligence functionality. The View 10 is the first smartphone to launch in India with Kirin 970 SoC.
It sports a 5.99-inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. Honor is calling the 18:9 screen on the Honor View 10 as FullView display. The chipset is paired with 6GB of RAM. In India, Honor may launch the 128GB storage variant, as it did with the Honor 8 Pro. It also comes with a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 256GB.
The fingerprint scanner is placed below the display. Another USP of the View 10 is the dual camera setup at the back. The Honor View 10 rocks a primary 16MP sensor along with a 20MP monochrome sensor. Up front, there's a 13MP camera to take care of selfies and video calls.
The device boots Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box with EMUI 8.0 on top. Backing this entire package is a 3750mAh battery, which also has fast charging support. There might be some launch offers on Amazon India, which is yet to be revealed by the company.
