Reliance Jio’s Dhan Dhana Dhan plan offers 1GB data per day and unlimited calling with a validity of 84 days for its Prime users. After the expiry of Dhan Dhana Dhan offer, the Prime users on recharging with Rs.303 get the same benefits but for 28 days only. Now the effective cost per day is Rs.10.82 (during Dhan Dhana Dhan offer it was Rs.4.82). For non-prime, the data is limited to only 2GB per month.

Idea Cellular has come up with a prepaid pack to counter competition from Reliance Jio. Idea will now be offering 70 GB of data and unlimited calls at Rs 396 which will have a validity of 70 days and 1 GB data per day. The data pack is only limited to 3G speeds, and the unlimited calling is restricted to calls within the Idea network. Calls made to the other network have a limit of 3,000 minutes for the entire duration of the validity period. This is further capped at 300 minutes a day and 1200 minutes a week.

Vodafone also came out with its Ramzan special Rs 786 plan which offers 25 GB data and unlimited calling benefits to customers of select circles. However, it's a postpaid plan.

With mobile phone cost decreasing day by day, users can afford a dual-SIM phone. Users can retain their primary number and shuffle secondary SIM as per the cheapest plan availability. We are moving towards an era where users will be incentivized for staying with the operator. The incentive can be in terms of cashback on successive recharge or more value on next recharge.
