Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL Launch Hinted on May 8 Through New Flipkart Product Page

Google's Pixel line-up will be taken forward with the launch of Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL during the I/O Conference

  • The Pixel 3a will likely come with Snapdragon 660 or Snapdragon 670, while the Pixel 3a XL will come with Snapdragon 710
  • Both the phones are expected to pack 4GB of RAM and Android 9 Pie out of the box

The launch of the Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL is right around the corner. Almost after a year of speculations, leaks and half-baked news, we will be finally witnessing the launch of these lite versions of Google’s Pixel phone line-up in the search giant’s I/O conference. The significant byte right now is coming from the Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart, as the e-commerce site has made the product page for these new phones live for the visitors. It is worth noting that neither Google’s web store page, nor the Flipkart product page reveals anything about the name of the Google devices, but a slip-up happened when Google accidentally mentioned the ‘Pixel 3a’ on its web-store a few days back revealing about the new phones.

Details About the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL Launch

Notably, the new product page on Flipkart closely coincides with the previous promo which Google had rolled out on its webstore page. This promo talked about a “New Hero” being on the way. The Google promo also talked about the date of the launch of this new product, that is on May 7, interestingly, this date also coincides with the date of Google I/O conference. However, on the Flipkart product page relating to the Pixel, the date mentioned is May 8, which is probably because of the time difference between Pacific time and IST. The Flipkart product page reads, “Something big is coming to the Pixel Universe,” which clearly hints towards the launch of the new Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL.

Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL Likely Specifications and Other Features

It is now known that the new devices will be toned down version of the original Pixel 3 line-up. As per the speculations surfacing related to these phones, Google is expected to pack the Snapdragon 660 or the Snapdragon 670 chipset on the Pixel 3a whereas the Pixel 3a XL is likely to come with the Snapdragon 710. There were also a few sightings of the two phones on the Google Play Developers Console, which revealed that the Pixel 3a would come with a 5.6-inch Full-HD+ display, while the Pixel 3a XL will come with a bigger, 6-inch Full HD+ display. The sighting on the Developers Console also talked about 4GB RAM on both of these devices.

There is also the apparent fact that the phones will come with Android 9 Pie out of the box, but will also be among the first ones to receive the Android Q update when Google releases it, as is customary with the Pixel series of phones. There have also been teasers referencing Marvel Cinematic “Universe” and the use of a purple luminescence, which probably hints towards a purple variant of the upcoming Pixel devices. Besides that, some of the posters also reveal that the new Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL might come with NightSight.
