The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Gionee has launched Steel 2 smartphone in China. Priced at CNY 1299 (approx. Rs. 13,000), the Gionee Steel 2 is a 5-inch HD smartphone with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels.
Under the hood of Gionee Steel 2 is a quad-core MediaTek (MT6737) processor paired with 3GB RAM. There are two memory options available – 16GB and 32GB. Both the inbuilt memories can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. The mobile phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with Amigo 3.5 UI on top. In terms of camera, there is an 8MP on the rear and a 5MP in the front. The connectivity options include 4G LTE, VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. This budget smartphone also carries a 4000mAh non-removable battery. Overall, Gionee Steel 2 is a mid-range smartphone with decent specifications.
To recap, Gionee recently launched a high-end smartphone in China at a whopping price of CNY 6999 (approx. Rs. 69,034), Gionee M2017 featured 5.7-inch QHD (1440x2560 pixels resolution) AMOLED display with curved edges and sapphire glass, 6GB RAM, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor, and 7000mAh battery. The Gionee M2017 packed two batteries inside, of 3500mAh each, and they supported Quick Charge 3.0. There are two inbuilt storage options for the phone – 128/256GB. Dual-camera set-up, of 12MP and 13MP, is another specialty of this premium smartphone. It also accommodated an 8MP on the front side of the smartphone. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Amigo 3.5 UI on top.

Gionee M2017 supports fingerprint scanner for security. For connectivity, it provides options via 4G, Bluetooth, GPS, USB Type-C and Wi-Fi.
