The device features a 5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 64-bit chipset clubbed with 1GB of RAM. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, and has 16GB of expandable internal storage. There is a 5-megapixel primary camera with LED flash, along with a 2-megapixel selfie camera.

In the connectivity department, it supports dual-SIM, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and is backed by a 2,000mAh battery. It measures 143.5 x 72 x 8.9mm and weighs 153 grams. The phone comes equipped with a rather interesting customized lock feature. Commenting on the launch, Timir Baran Acharyya, GM, Gionee India, said,”The idea behind introducing P5W has been the youth and their fascination towards carrying bright colorful phones. P5W comes in exciting color ranges from white, blue, red, yellow and black etc. The look and the feel of carrying the device have been thoroughly thought after. Aiming specifically at the youth of the country, we are sure that the device would gauge tremendous interest as like its predecessors.”

Given its price and specifications, the Gionee P5W has got tough competitors such as Motorola Moto E (2nd Gen) and Redmi 2 Prime with similar specs and pricing.
