E& and Nokia Bell Labs have signed a year-long non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on research and development of AI-based use cases for key industrial sectors. The partnership aims to create responsible AI solutions that promote sustainable enterprise and industrial automation, e& said in a joint statement on Thursday.

Focus Areas for Collaboration
The MoU includes plans to explore collaboration with industries, universities, and research centers, focusing on developing innovative AI and information communication technology solutions. Both companies noted that network connectivity, AI, and advanced computing are foundational in solving the difficult industrial challenges of productivity, efficiency, safety, health, and sustainability faced by many sectors today.
According to the official release, Nokia Bell Labs has defined six principles to guide future AI research along the lines of fairness, reliability, privacy, transparency, sustainability, and accountability.
