Dual cameras have become the mainstream feature in most of the smartphones releasing these days. Smartphone cameras never impressed us for years now, but in recent times, almost all the smartphone vendors upped the game and packing decent cameras on their smartphones.

Last year, dual cameras was a feature seen on flagship smartphones, but this year, we have seen the technology coming to mid-range smartphones. Coolpad launched the affordable dual camera smartphone- the Cool 1 Dual in India late last year. Followed the suit are Huawei Honor 6X, Motorola Moto G5S Plus, etc.

And now, the mid-range market is flooded with several dual camera smartphones. Here are the top five dual camera smartphones to purchase in India as of September 2017 under Rs. 20,000.

Xiaomi Mi A1

Xiaomi recently launched its first Android One smartphone, the Mi A1 in India. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 14,999 and offers a flagship dual camera setup. It boasts of two 12MP sensors at the back- one 12MP RBG sensor, and another 12MP sensor with a telephoto lens. The Mi A1 has a smaller 5MP front-facing camera.

The smartphone offers stock Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box with guaranteed Android O and Android P updates. It flaunts a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC. There's 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with support for microSD card for storage expansion. This entire package is backed by a 3080mAh battery.

Motorola Moto G5S Plus

Motorola's first dual camera smartphone in India is an upgraded version of Moto G5 Plus. The G5S Plus is priced at Rs. 15,999 and offers two 13MP cameras at the back. One 13MP sensor is used to capture to RGB shots, while the other one is used to add depth in the images.

The smartphone has a 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 625 SoC, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and a 3000mAh battery. It has an 8MP selfie camera with an LED flash support as well. The G5S Plus boots Android 7.1 Nougat.

Huawei Honor 6X

The Honor 6X has yet another great dual-camera setup, however, it falls next in line to the Nubia Z17 Mini in terms of performance. With a combination of 12MP primary sensor followed by a 2MP secondary lens, the phone allows you to take good pictures in bokeh mode for portraits and macro shots.

The phone comes with an 8MP front-facing sensor for selfies and video calls. Under the hood, the handset packs in a Kirin 655 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory. The device runs on Android Marshmallow and is backed by a 3,340mAh battery. The Honor 6x flaunts a 5.5-inch FHD display and is placed at a price point of Rs. 11,999.

Coolpad Cool Play 6

The Coolpad Cool Play 6 is the latest smartphone from the Chinese company, and it is also the affordable 6GB RAM smartphone in the country. The device is priced at Rs. 14,999 and also offers dual rear cameras. It has two 13MP sensors at the back- one 13MP sensor for RGB shots, and the other one is a monochrome sensor for black and white shots.

The smartphone offers a 5.5-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 653 SoC, 6GB of RAM, 64GB storage (sadly, no expandable storage). It has a decent 4000mAh battery and runs Android 7.1 Nougat as well.

Nubia Z17 Mini

The Nubia Z17 Mini, which was launched in India last month, boasts of dual 13MP sensors on the back – with both monochrome and RGB sensors. The handset also comes with an impressive 16MP front camera for shooting great selfies. Priced at Rs. 19,999, this dual-SIM smartphone sports a 5.2-inch display with FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution.

Under the hood, the NubiaZ17 Mini is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 652 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. The handset runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and packs in a 2,950mAh battery.
