D2h Customers Can Stream Watcho Live TV Content Through D2h Magic Stick on HD Set-Top Box

D2h Magic is an OTT stick made available for D2h customers by Dish TV and it comes preloaded with the Watcho app that offers over 100 Live TV channels to the users

  • D2h Magic is currently available to HD Set-Top Box users of D2h for Rs 399
  • The price of the D2h Magic will soon be increased by the company
  • D2h Magic is very much identical to the DishSMRT Stick from Dish TV

D2h (earlier known as Videocon D2h) is now part of Dish TV India and the operator is launching new hardware products to the customers on a timely basis. A few weeks ago, Dish TV introduced D2h Magic Stick for D2h subscribers and they can stream OTT content through this stick. The D2h Magic Stick can be connected to the D2h HD Set-Top Box, and without that, the stick will not be of any use. D2h Magic stick is a similar product to the DishSMRT Stick which the operator is providing for a while now. D2h Magic is currently available for D2h subscribers at an introductory price of Rs 399, but very soon, the prices will go up. Also, the stick comes preloaded with Dish TV’s Watcho app which allows all the D2h subscribers to watch Live TV content through the internet for free.

D2h Magic Stick Features

The D2h Magic Stick bears a very uncanny resemblance to a product which Dish TV offers to its subscribers, and it is called the DishSMRT Stick. In functionality too, the D2h Magic Stick provides similar features. Using the D2h Magic Stick, the subscribers will be able to access OTT platforms on their TV screen. It is worth noting that the D2h Magic Stick is an internet based dongle, this means that subscribers will first have to plug the stick in their D2h set-top box, after this, they will be required to set up an internet connection to which they can connect their D2h Magic Stick. Once connected, the subscribers will be able to stream OTT content on their TV screens.

D2h Magic Stick Pricing and Availability

When it comes to the pricing of the D2h Magic Stick, the subscribers will only have to pay Rs 399 as one time cost. It is worth noting that the original cost of Magic Stick seems to be Rs 999 as per the official website, but right now, the Magic Stick is retailing for a discounted price of Rs 399. Along with this, the subscribers will be charged a monthly service fee of Rs 25 plus GST every month, after three months of free service. The website has also noted that the D2h Magic Stick will only be compatible with HDRF (v7000 series) box only.

The D2h Magic Stick will avail applications like the Watcho app, Sony LIV app, ZEE5, ALTBalaji and Hungama Play. On these applications, the viewers will be able to access movies, TV shows and web-series. To get a new D2h Magic Stick for pairing up with your D2h subscription, the subscribers will have to fill out a form available on the D2h website after which they will be contacted by the D2h representative to provide the D2h Magic Stick. Lastly, the D2h Magic Stick also comes with a six months warranty which ensures that in case of any failure, the device will be replaced.

Is D2h Magic a Worthy Purchase to the Customers?

Almost every DTH operator in the country right now are looking to bring some additional hardware product so that they can offer OTT content to the customers. Dish TV and Airtel Digital TV already introduced Android TV-based Set-Top Boxes priced at Rs 3,999, whereas Tata Sky has been offering Tata Sky Binge service for more than six months now. D2h is out of this race as we all know because it does not have any Android TV-based box nor a service like Tata Sky Binge.

The only option available for D2h customers right now is the D2h Magic Stick which allows them to stream OTT content via the existing Set-Top Box. And at the price of Rs 399 and a monthly charges of just Rs 25, the D2h Magic is a worthy purchase. That said, D2h may come up with Android TV-based STB very soon since Dish TV already launched it in the market.
