Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has announced a new Smart Plan to its prepaid subscribers in Kerala state on the occasion of Onam festival. This plan from BSNL is aimed at the data-savvy users, and in most parts of Kerala, the company is offering 4G services to the customers, so it's a decent plan by the government-owned PSU. The Smart Plan priced at Rs 234 from BSNL ships with unlimited voice calling (with daily cap), 100 SMSes per day and 90GB data benefit. And the validity of the plan is 30 days. That said, BSNL confirmed that there's no daily data cap on this new Smart Plan, so users can consume the 90GB data anytime during the 30 days. Prepaid plans from all the telcos now come with daily data FUP and it's a good thing to see BSNL launching a plan with no daily data limit. However, the disappointment is the plan is available only in Kerala circle at the moment and the telco may not introduce it in other circles.

BSNL Smart Plan Rs 234 Launched: What it Offers to Customers?

As mentioned above, the Rs 234 Smart Plan from BSNL is aimed at heavy data users. It ships with an overall data benefit of 90GB and there's no daily data limit. In several parts of Kerala, BSNL is providing 4G services to the users; So with high-speed data services, BSNL users can really make use of this smart plan of Rs 234. It's unknown whether BSNL has introduced this plan on a promotional basis or not. Usually, BSNL launches new prepaid plans on a promotional basis and they'll expire after 90 days of introduction. If BSNL observes there's demand for the plan, then it'll relaunch the same plan with modified benefits, or it'll just extend the availability of the plan.

Other benefits of the BSNL Smart Plan Rs 234 include 100 SMSes per day and unlimited voice calling. Very recently, BSNL introduced voice calling cap on several prepaid plans and the newly launched Rs 234 plan falls into the list. With this plan, users can make up to 250 minutes of free voice calls to any number across the country, post which the standard voice calling charges will be applicable.

Lastly, the validity of the plan is 30 days from the date of recharge and it can be activated via CTopUp or BSNL website/mobile app. Customers can also send an SMS as PLAN SMART to 123 or they can also activate the plan by dialling *444 *234#.

BSNL Introduces Voice Calling Cap on Several Prepaid Plans

Kerala is the major telecom circle for BSNL and the company already has over 10 million customers in the state. The Smart Plan Rs 234 is exclusive to Kerala circle at the moment, as we did not spot it for BSNL prepaid numbers in other circles. In other news, BSNL has introduced voice calling cap on several popular prepaid plans including STV 187, STV 199, STV 298, STV 319, STV 349, STV 395, STV 392 and so on. Even the telco's Rs 1,699 yearly prepaid plan ships with daily data cap which is underwhelming.
