Amid the tragedy of the landslide in Wayanad, Kerala, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) swiftly restored 4G connectivity and provided high-speed internet for relief efforts. BSNL introduced 4G services in the landslide-hit areas of Chooralmala and Mundakkai by the afternoon of July 31, according to a statement.

4G Connectivity Restored in Wayanad
"Amid the tragedy of the Wayanad landslide, BSNL swiftly restored 4G connectivity and provided high-speed internet for relief efforts. Even during power outages, landslides, and floods, BSNL ensured seamless communication," BSNL India shared on platform X (formerly Twitter).
Previously, only 3G services were available in these areas. Diesel engines have been deployed to keep the towers operational during power outages. Speedy internet connections have been provided to the district administration, and toll-free numbers have been set up for the Health department, according to a report by The Hindu.

Free Calls and Data for All Users
Additionally, in support of the rescue mission and in solidarity with the affected citizens, BSNL announced that it is offering free unlimited calls, data usage, and 100 SMS per day for three days to all customers in Wayanad district and Nilambur Taluk.
