Bharti Airtel Upgrades its Mobile Network in Odisha to Provide Better Voice Experience for 4G Users

Bharti Airtel, which has over 340 million subscribers under its belt has announced the upgradation of mobile network in Odisha. Airtel says that this network upgradation will enable a superior voice experience for 4G smartphone users. The company has further optimised its 3G network, which carries a bulk of the voice traffic for smartphone users, by deploying state of the art network solutions and advanced network software. 4G smartphone users on the Airtel network will now experience improved voice clarity, call stability and coverage, Airtel said in a press statement.

Airtel has also increased its 4G coverage across Odisha to enable a seamless data experience. "This will result in improved 4G availability – both indoors and outdoors – and ensure that 4G smartphone users are always getting the best of data speeds," added Airtel.

Commenting on the development Sameer Anjaria, Chief Executive Officer – West Bengal & Odisha, Bharti Airtel Ltd said, “Our customers are at the core of everything that we do and we are constantly listening to their feedback. Given the massive surge in 4G smartphone penetration, we have stepped up our network investments to serve the exploding voice and data usage. Airtel has already cemented its place as the fastest network in India and with the latest optimisation, smartphone users on our network will also enjoy best-in-class voice experience. We invite all customers to switch to Airtel 4G and enjoy the superior network experience.”

Furthermore, Airtel has recently launched its VoLTE (Voice over LTE) services in Odisha which offers HD voice quality and faster call connect times. Whenever there's no 4G network, voice calls will fallback to 3G/2G network, and close to 200 4G smartphones now has support for Airtel VoLTE.

Giving a brief about Airtel in Odisha, the telco is trusted by over 12 million customers. As part of Airtel’s network transformation program – Project Leap, the company plans to roll out 4,400 new sites and an additional 1,500 kms of optic fiber across the state in FY 2018-19.
