And now, we have noticed that the data speeds in the city are increased drastically when compared to what we used to get a month ago. Let' speak about the data speeds first.

A month ago, I used to get a download speed of close to 5 Mbps in Airtel network, but now, am getting close to 22 Mbps download speed in the same location. That said, these download speeds are indoor speeds and not outdoor speeds. However, I did not notice any increase in the upload speed though. The upload speeds are still underwhelming at below 2 Mbps.

Also, it looks like the speeds are increased everywhere across the city. One of the authors has registered download speed of 44.76 Mbps and upload speed of 6.67 Mbps. These are some insane speeds, but the upload speed could have been better.

Earlier this year, Ookla rated Bharti Airtel as India's fastest network, but Trai's speed test applications rated Reliance Jio as the fastest operator for seven consecutive months. Airtel recently announced Project Next, under which the operator has plans to expand the network infrastructure and the company might even roll out VoLTE services in the near future as well in Hyderabad.
