Intex Aqua Lions 2, An Entry-Level Smartphone With 4G VoLTE, Android 7.0 Nougat Launched at Rs. 4,599

Homegrown smartphone brand, Intex has announced a new smartphone named Intex Aqua Lions 2 in the Indian market. Priced at Rs. 4,599, the Aqua Lions 2 offers specifications on-par with other smartphones in the similar price range. The highlight of the new smartphone is the support for VoLTE and it runs Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box.


The Intex Aqua Lions 2 comes right after the Aqua Lions 3 which was launched back in July 2017 with a premium price tag of Rs. 6,499. On paper, the Aqua Lions 2 offers a 5-inch FWVGA display with a resolution of 480×854 pixels. The device is entirely made out of plastic and has three hardware navigation keys below the display.

The smartphone is powered by an unspecified quad-core processor, which works with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. You can expand the storage up to 64GB with the help of a microSD card. The smartphone will be available Champagne Gold and Black colour options.

Connectivity options in the Aqua Lions 2 include support for 4G LTE, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and micro USB port. Intex did not reveal any information about USB OTG support. As said earlier, the device comes preinstalled with Andriod 7.0 Nougat out of the box, and also has some pre-loaded apps such as Tap n Buy for shopping, Amazon Prime Video for video content, and Xender for file sharing.

As far as cameras are concerned, the device rocks a 5MP camera at the back, which is coupled with an another 5MP shooter at the front. The Intex Aqua Lions 2 measures 143.8x72x8mm and weighs 158grams. This entire package is backed by a 2400mAh battery, which won’t last for a single day, even with moderate usage.

Intex should now leave this habbit of launching mobiles every now and then. Now they should come in competition at least in budget smartphones with good specifications & latest Android and good battery backup around 6k-8k. Then only it would be a decent item for selection while purchase.
