When Airtel introduced the Rs 169 plan, the company offered 500MB data per day for 28 days. But with recent Jio's revision of the Rs 153 plan for JioPhone, Airtel has now revised the Rs 169 plan for its partnered 4G smartphones. Airtel is now offering 1GB data per day, unlimited voice calls for 28 days. But sadly, this plan doesn't offer SMS benefits, as there's no mentioning of the SMS benefit on the company's website.

Mukesh Ambani-owned Reliance Jio recently revised the Rs 153 tariff plan for JioPhone users as it now offers 1.5GB 4G data per day for 28 days. It also provides unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for the validity period.

As stated, this plan of Rs 169 is meant for Airtel partnered handsets under the Mera Pehla Smartphone initiative. For the unaware, to bring down the value of a 4G smartphone, Airtel has partnered with handset manufacturers such as Samsung, itel, Karbonn, Celkon, Intex, and Zen Mobiles.

Other smartphone users can also recharge the Rs 169 plan, but it just offers them 14 days of validity. The smartphones available under Airtel Mera Pehla Smartphone initiative are Samsung Galaxy J2, Galaxy J5 Prime, Galaxy J7 Prime, Galaxy J7 Pro, itel A40, itel A41, Karbonn A40 Indian, Karbonn A1 Indian, Karbonn K9 Yuva, Karbonn K9 Selfie, Karbonn K9 Kavach, Celkon Smart 4G, Celkon Star 4G, Intex Aqua N1, Aqua A4, Aqua S3, Zen M70 and Zen Admire.

To counter Reliance JioPhone, Airtel partnered with mobile brands to bring the effective prices of select 4G smartphones. Recently, Airtel also stated that it received a tremendous response to this initiative and this offer will even bring more consumers on board.
