Bharti Airtel Stops Validity Loan Feature Indefinitely

While Airtel has stopped validity loans, the data loan offer is still available for the users. It is emergency data loan facility wherein a customer can avail 1GB of data for 1 day. However, the loan has to be paid back.

Bharti Airtel, a leading Indian telecom operator, has stopped offering new validity loans. The validity loans were a service operated by Airtel wherein customers could get 1.5GB of data and unlimited voice calling for 1 day from Airtel without paying any amount. This service wasn't available in PAN-India, but only in select regions including Rajasthan, Kerala, Bihar, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. But now, Airtel has confirmed that it has stopped validity loans for customers. The telco has not offered any information on whether it will be back in any form or not.

Data Loan Facility Still Available

While the telco has stopped validity loans, the data loan offer is still available for the users. It is emergency data loan facility wherein a customer can avail 1GB of data for 1 day. However, the loan has to be paid back. So the data loan is recovered by the telco whenever the customer makes his/her next data pack recharge.

Airtel outlined that these are the valid packs for data loan recovery - Rs 22, Rs 33, Rs 77, Rs 121, Rs 149, Rs 161, Rs 181, and Rs 361. To get data loan, Airtel prepaid customers have to dial the USSD code *567*3#. Or, they can also reply with “1” to the Interactive SMS sent from CLI 56321 when Data balances is over.

At a time, a customer can only get one data loan. To get the next loan, the customer will have to first clear the previous one. This service is available for users PAN-India and it won't work for postpaid users of the telco.

Airtel's data loan facility is aimed at helping users who can't pay for the data right away to get access to internet for basic or important work so that their experience is seamless.
