Atman Starts Construction of Warsaw-3 Data Center Project in Poland
Polish data centre company Atman has begun construction on a new facility outside the capital, Warsaw. More precisely, Atman Data Center Warsaw-3 (WAW-3), the company’s next largest data centre project to date, is being built in the village of Duchnice, situated near Ozarow Mazowiecki, approximately 30 minutes from the centre of Warsaw. On October 12, 2023, company members, local government representatives, and technology partners participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for WAW-3 in Duchnice.

Atman Data Center WAW-3

Atman has announced that the first of the three buildings on the WAW-3 campus, situated on the 5.5-acre site, is scheduled to be completed in Q4 2024. This building will offer a colocation area of nearly 19,000 square meters spread across 36 data halls. Customers of WAW-3 will have access to a target IT capacity of 43 MW, dedicated exclusively for colocation purposes.

Supporting Technological Advancements

In a statement, Atman highlighted, “The intensive development of new technologies, including the demand for computing power used by AI systems, gives an idea of the huge amount of data to be stored and the potential for growth of the domestic data centre market. In line with its long-term strategy, Atman aims to support this development while fulfilling its mission of providing uninterrupted access to data.”

Sustainability and Global Reach

“Atman Data Center WAW-3 will be fully equipped to cater to the requirements of large global customers, particularly hyperscalers,” as stated in the official announcement. The statement also highlighted that all Atman data centres operate on 100 percent renewable energy.
