Asus has rolled out a new OTA update to the Zenfone Max Pro M1 smartphone, which adds various new features to the smartphone. The primary feature added to the smartphone is the VoLTE support on Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular networks. Yes, after updating the device to the latest version, users will be able to use VoLTE on all the four big networks- Jio, Airtel, Idea and Vodafone, although the last three telcos are offering the service in limited circles at the moment. The smartphone already supports Jio VoLTE. Alongside the VoLTE support, Asus has also fixed some issues related to the camera and fingerprint scanner. The 1.4GB weighing (FOTA file size) update takes the smartphone to May 2018 security patches.

Firstly, Asus has improved the response of the fingerprint sensor on the smartphone, which several people had complained since the launch of the smartphone. During the launch event, Asus promised that the fingerprint scanner is capable of unlocking the smartphone in less than 0.2 seconds and is now working towards achieving that speed. The Taiwanese smartphone company also improved the front camera performance on the device, which even offers a Portrait mode.

On the whole, Asus is working hard on improving the overall user experience and make the device free from bugs. The company did not reveal any other improvements related to the rear camera and Face Unlock feature. The company also reaffirmed that it would deliver more software updates in the future to enhance the user experience. Asus already confirmed the rollout of Android P and Android Q updates to the Zenfone Max Pro M1 in the future.

For the unaware, Asus launched the Zenfone Max Pro M1 as a competitor to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro and to give consumers a better option over the latter, it even chose stock Android as its operating system for the smartphone. The Max Pro M1 boots Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and is currently on April 2018 security patch update. Post today's OTA update, the phone will be moved to May 2018 security update.

Asus is currently selling the device through a flash sale model in India via Flipkart. The handset was up for purchase today on Flipkart and the next sale will happen on Thursday next week.
