New Update Brings Camera, Connectivity and Audio Improvements to Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1

Asus just launched two smartphones in India, the ZenFone Max M2 and the ZenFone Max Pro M2 for a starting price tag of Rs 9,999. Most Android OEMs forget the old smartphones after launching a new device, but Asus isn't one of them. Soon after the launch of the ZenFone Max M2 and the ZenFone Max Pro M2 the company has decided to upgrade the months old ZenFone Max Pro M1. Announcing of bringing the new upgrade the company says, "Asus is constantly working towards improving the performance of its smartphones and is back with another update to further enhance the same." Asus has announced that the new update comes with FOTA version - OPM1.WW_Phone-15.2016.1811.338-20181206 and it also packs together Google Security patch to November.

Update Brings Various New Features and Fixes

The new update brings a range of new features to the ZenFone Max Pro M1 including the November security patch. Other features that Asus brings to the ZenFone Max Pro M1 are improved Wi-Fi hotspot compatibility, improved third-party app compatibility, optimised power consumption, improved camera performance on video recording and optimise the audio experience via headphones. Asus has also announced that the "the current FOTA will be released on December 19 by 12:30 PM (IST) batch by batch." This means not all ZenFone Max Pro M1 users will get the update together. It will be rolled out in a phased manner.

Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Specifications

The Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 was launched in India back in the month of April this year. As far as the specs are concerned, the phone comes with a 5.99-inch display with a screen resolution of 1080x2160 pixels, On the hardware front, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 is powered by 1.8GHz octa-core processor which is paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded up to 2000GB via a microSD card.

On the camera front, the ZenFone Max Pro M1 comes packed with a primary sensor of 13MP with an aperture of f/2.2 and a secondary sensor of 5MP with an aperture of f/2.4. On the front the ZenFone includes a 8-megapixel camera for clicking selfies. The phone is backed by a massive 5000mAh battery setup which can last more than just a say.

The ZenFone Max Pro M1 measures 159.00 x 76.00 x 8.64 in height, width, and thickness and the phone weighs approx 180.00 grams. The phone comes with several connectivity options like dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3G and 4G support. It also packs sensors for face unlock support which enables users to unlock the phone just by looking at the screen. There are other sensors like Compass/ Magnetometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope, Proximity sensor, and Accelerometer.
