Asus has announced a new entry-level smartphone in Indonesia, dubbed as the Asus Zenfone Live L1. The device was launched without any fanfare, and it's part of the Android Go program. Also, this is the first Asus device to launch with Android Oreo (Go Edition) software. In addition, it's the first Android Go device to feature an 18:9 display and the rest of specs are also much better than the earlier launched Android Go devices. The Zenfone Live L1, for now, will be available only in the Indonesian market, but it might make into the Indian market very soon as Asus is trying to secure some market share by the end of 2018 in India.

Diving into the specs of the Asus Zenfone Live L1 smartphone, it flaunts a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1440 × 720 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. At the heart of the phone, there's the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, coupled with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The device also offers a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 2TB.

The phone boots Android Oreo (Go Edition) ROM out of the box. There's a 2GB of RAM variant as well, which comes with Asus ZenUI layered on top. The phone packs all the Google's lightweight apps such as Gmail Go, Google Go etc. The smartphone packs a 13MP rear camera with PDAF support, and up front, there's a 5MP selfie shooter. Asus has also added the Face Unlock feature, which allows a user to unlock the smartphone with their face.

The phone comes in various colour options- Midnight Black, Blue, White and Rose Gold. It also offers connectivity options such as 4G LTE, VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, GPS and a micro USB port. There's a 3000mAh battery backing the entire device.

There are other Android Go devices in the market as well such as the Nokia 1 and so on, but the Zenfone Live L1 packs better specs of all. It will be interesting to see whether Asus launches it in India or not.
