Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 (ZE550KL) has finally gone on sale in India via Flipkart. The device was available for pre-orders from August 19th, and from today, the smartphone is up for direct purchase. Interestingly, Asus received 30,000 pre-orders for its latest Zenfone 2 series in India, under which 10,000 registrations were received for the Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5.
The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 (ZE550KL) comes with a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 410 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage onboard, further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The phone runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Asus’s in-house ZenUI 2.0 on top, and comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera with Real Tone flash, along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. In terms of connectivity, the phone supports dual-SIM, 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery.
It will be available in Ceramic White, Pure Black, and Glamour Red color options, for a price of Rs. 9,999 (16GB variant) and Rs. 9,799 (8GB variant). Moreover, at the Zen Festival, Asus also revealed that it will be selling the 3GB RAM variant with octa-core Snapdragon processor at a price of Rs. 13,999. On Flipkart, the Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0 (ZE500KL) 8GB storage variant is listed at Rs. 9,799, and the 16GB variant is listed at Rs. 9,999. The Zenfone 5.0 Laser with a 5-inch display and the Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5 with 5.5-inch display are retailing at the same price, it would be interesting to see that which one of the two receives more customer response.
