The official Android 5.0 Lollipop rollout timeline has been validated by the HTC for all the supported devices. The initial variants to get the Lollipop update will be the Google Play Edition of the One M7 (2013) and M8 (2014), However, their original variants will be receiving the update sometime between January–February 2015.

Google announced the Android 5.0 Lollipop last week and its initial release will go out with the brand new Motorola / Google Nexus 6 smartphone and HTC / Google Nexus 9 tablet. Both the devices will be launched in the first week of November with the brand new Lollipop update. Later, Google will start giving the OTA (over-the-air) update of Android 5.0 for Nexus 4, 5, 7 and 10 models before the end of January.

After all the Nexus devices are finished with the installation of Lollipop update, HTC One M7 GPE edition might also be updated with Android 5.0, all this rendering will be done in late November or early December. In the new year, we can hope for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the original HTC One M7 and HTC One M8 Sense-based smartphones too.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop roll out for One M7 and One M8 original HTC models is suffering from lag because HTC needs to integrate all the new features and themes for its HTC Sense interface, which will require testing and 100 percent accuracy and success. Before all that happens, we can check out the Android 5.0 Lollipop web page and browse through its latest features.
