As it was rumoured earlier this year, Amazon has brought its Echo range of smart speakers powered by its own Alexa voice assistant to the Indian market. The range of products includes Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, and Echo Plus smart speakers. Also, the speakers have priced affordably and Amazon is offering additional cashback if you purchase the speakers with Amazon Pay balance.

Furthermore, Amazon also said that it's bringing the Amazon Prime Music to India, which competes with music streaming services such as Saavn, Apple Music, Google Play Music in India. Essentially, whoever purchases an Amazon Echo speaker will get one year worth Amazon Prime membership, Amazon Prime Music membership for free. Also, Amazon says that additional 30% discount will be applied on all the three products at the checkout.

However, the sad part is you can't go to Amazon and purchase an Echo speaker like every other product, because Amazon, for now, will be selling the three products as invite-only products. So, you need to first apply for an invite by heading over to the product page, and Amazon will notify you if at all they're giving you an invite. So, if you're eligible for the invite, you can purchase the Amazon Alexa speaker in India.

Talking about the pricing of the Echo speakers in India, the smaller one of the three, the Amazon Echo Dot will retail for just Rs. 4,499, along with a 30% discount offer, which will be applied at the checkout. The Amazon Echo speaker costs Rs. 9,999, and lastly, the Amazon Echo Plus will be available for Rs. 14,999.

As said earlier, these are smart speakers from Amazon powered by the company's own assistant- Amazon Alexa. So, with Alexa, you can control these speakers remotely with voice commands. These three speakers are hands-free, voice-controlled devices which use Alexa voice service to play music, set alarms and timers, check your calendar, weather and sports scores, manage to-do and shopping lists, control smart home devices, and more-instantly.

Also, you can play music on these speakers through services such as Amazon Prime Music, Saavn, and Tuneln. You can also interact with these speakers and can ask them to perform several actions such as request a ride from Ola, Order food from Zomato, Book a carpenter from Urbanclap.
