Expansion of Airtel WiFi Services

"While Airtel Wi-Fi has historically had limited availability, Airtel has worked to solve this problem, and now we have high-speed Wi-Fi available in over 1,200 cities. This means that those who were previously unable to access high-speed internet will now be able to do so," Gopal said in his message to customers.

The CEO highlighted that Wi-Fi has become an integral part of our daily lives, shaping how we work, learn, and entertain ourselves at home. We now need high-speed internet at home for smart devices, studying, and working.

Specifically, while announcing the results for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2024, Airtel reported that it continues to accelerate its homepass rollout using an asset-light local cable operator partnership model. The company is now live with its services in 1,290 cities across India.

As a mark of this capability, Airtel's CEO said the company has now chosen to offer users even more value in its service offerings.

New Entertainment Benefits with Airtel WiFi

Gopal noted that Airtel Wi-Fi now comes with entertainment benefits, offering the largest selection of TV shows, movies, and web series included with the Wi-Fi plan. "Specifically, this content delivered through Airtel Wi-Fi will give you access to over 22 OTT platforms and 350+ TV channels," he said.

"To signal our gratitude, every time you choose to add a new Airtel service—Mobile, Content, or Wi-Fi—we will offer extra value over and above your basic plan," Gopal added in his message.
