To stick to the trends and to offer competitive services, Bharti Airtel also introduced its FTTH (Fiber to the home) V-Fiber broadband services a couple of years ago. With Jio GigaFiber launching in August, the competition is only going to grow tougher as days pass. Bharti Airtel is also offering its users fibre optic connections which have been known to provide better speeds and reliable internet connectivity for broadband users. ACT Fibernet, Spectra broadband Reliance Jio GigaFiber, BSNL are going to be some big names in this category which will fight for the larger piece of the pie. The V-Fiber service was launched in Chennai, and Bharti Airtel had shared plans of expanding to 87 more cities in India. At the moment, Airtel is offering V-Fiber services in more than 30 cities.
Airtel V-Fiber Technology
Airtel V-Fiber uses the Vectorisation technology which has been claimed to be Europe’s No.1 fixed broadband technology by the company. The fibre connection will mean that users will be able to enjoy speeds up to 300 Mbps (Airtel's fastest broadband plan right now) meaning faster downloads and less buffering. What’s notable here is that Airtel is the first broadband provider in the company which is offering Vectorisation technology.
Airtel V-Fiber Subscription
Subscription is pretty easy for existing broadband customers since they will just need to upgrade to a new Fiber modem and they will be good to go. Existing broadband subscribers won’t be required to do anything else, and they will only need to purchase a new modem of Rs 1000, and they will be upgraded to V-Fiber plans for free. New customers can head over to the Airtel website to register themselves for a new Fiber connection.
Airtel V-Fiber Plans
Initially, Airtel launched its services starting at Rs 999. However, later Airtel introduced a new fibre-based plan of Rs 799 which provides 40 Mbps and 100GB broadband data. Other plans by Airtel offer speeds ranging from 100 Mbps to 300 Mbps and they cost anywhere from Rs 999 to Rs 2,199. Airtel is also offering bonus data till October 31, 2018, which is 500GB in the case of the entry-level plan and a massive 1000GB in the case of the highest plan.
All the plans come with unlimited local and STD calling and the Rs 1999 plan offers unlimited data for the customers. Users also get the benefit of free Amazon Prime subscription. Apart from that, customers of V-Fiber will get data rollover facility on every plan above Rs 999 including the Rs 999 one. In addition to that, Airtel also offers 15% discount on half-yearly subscription of its broadband plan and 20% on its annual broadband subscription.
On the assault of Reliance Jio GigaFiber, Airtel has removed FUP limit on its broadband plans in Hyderabad city. However, in other cities, the company is still providing broadband plans with FUP limit.
Airtel V-Fiber Additional Benefits
Airtel's V-Fiber is not the affordable ones in the market, and the service provider is yet to roll out a gigabit plan in the country. To make up for premium charges, Airtel is offering data rollover scheme, Amazon Prime subscription for one year. And as mentioned, in Hyderabad, users will get unlimited broadband data with all of the Airtel's broadband plans. Lastly, Airtel is also giving 20% discount on broadband plans if a customer chooses them for six months or one year.
