Bangalore based Atria Convergence Technologies (ACT) provides Internet through Optical Fiber and also provides cable TV services. Due to the tremendous plans they offer, they have been able to grow much faster than their peers. They currently have over 4 Lakh subscribers in Hyderabad and Secundarabad and command a market share of 70 percent. In Bangalore, ACT has close to 1.5 Lakh subscribers, while in Chennai they have reached 5 percent market share within a year of launch in that city. ACT fibernet is the same company that had acquired Hyderabad’s popular high-speed broadband service Beam Tele and rebranded themselves from ACT broadband to ACT Fibernet.
With the ongoing cricket world cup many subscribers who do not use traditional cable TV opt to stream entire live matches online. The online streaming of matches consumes a lot of data and depletes the pre FUP data quota of subscribers. ACT as a goodwill gesture is resetting the FUP quotas of its fibernet subscribers in Hyderabad free of cost so they can still have plenty of high-speed data which they can use to stream the matches in HD.
