ACT Fibernet, one of the largest wired broadband service provider in India started offering free Live TV service on its platform. ACT Fibernet integrated Live TV by Yupp TV service on its Android application (we didn't check the iOS application). Initially, we thought that the Live TV service would be available only for ACT Entertainment plan users, but the service is available for every ACT Fibernet broadband users irrespective of the plan they're using. ACT Fibernet users with the latest Android application can open the app and start using the free Live TV service.
After browsing through the application for a while, we have come across the offer hidden under the Entertainment section. ACT Fibernet is offering complimentary six months of free subscription to Yupp TV. So every ACT Broadband user can use the Live TV service free for six months.
Apart from Yupp TV, ACT is also offering free two months of HOOQ subscription, one month of Fastfilmz and ALTBalaji subscriptions. Users can also enjoy Hungama premium subscription at just Rs 99, which for others costs Rs 249.
ACT Fibernet users, right after opening the application can see the Yupp TV banner at the bottom of the home screen. Clicking on the banner will take users to the Live TV service screen.
The entire Live TV catalogue available on Yupp TV has made its way to the ACT application. As a quick update, users can watch Live TV content in more than 12 languages such as English, Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi, Kannada, etc.
As we quoted at the start of this year, both telcos and broadband operators will focus heavily on the content game this year. ACT Fibernet is aware of the fact that Reliance Jio will offer free content services when it commercially launches the JioFiber broadband service and its good to see the company preparing for the challenge already.
But the best part of this integration is the service is completely free. Recently, ACT Fibernet launched a dedicated entertainment plan as ACT Entertainment plan in Hyderabad and Bengaluru to offer free content services. But the same offer is now open to all the ACT Fibernet broadband users as per the official application.
