Orange Egypt Deploys First Bare Metal Container-based SPC
Orange Egypt and Huawei have announced a new step in their long-term cooperation by implementing the first bare metal container in Egypt, delivering services through the operator's virtual Evolved Packet Core (vEPC) deployment. Under the partnership, Huawei deployed the container-based Single Packet Core (SPC) at Orange to support the seamless convergence of all mobile network generations (2G, 3G, 4G) in a simplified architecture with readiness for future evolution.

Seamless Integration Across Generations

This deployment introduces a virtual Evolved Packet Core (vEPC) that supports the seamless integration of all mobile network generations, including 2G, 3G, and 4G, while being prepared for future upgrades. The new technology aims to enhance network performance with features such as seamless handovers, elastic scaling, and improved operations and maintenance efficiency, the joint statement said.

In this context, Orange Egypt said, "Huawei's Single Packet Core solution is a transformative addition to our network infrastructure at Orange Egypt. This technology empowers us to deliver an unmatched network experience with seamless handovers, elastic scaling, enhanced operations and maintenance efficiency, and optimal resource utilisation. By integrating this solution, we significantly enhance our overall customer experience and reinforce our position as a leader in virtual network advancements."
