Vantage has announced the launch of another data center in Switzerland. The company announced this week the launch of its second data center campus (ZRH2) in Zurich, Switzerland. According to the company, the ZRH2 data center, Vantage's 33rd globally, is located 30 kilometers north of Zurich's city center in Glattfelden. Alongside Vantage's flagship Zurich campus (ZRH1), both campuses will offer customers 64 MW of capacity.

Location and Capacity
"We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of our second data center campus in Zurich, Switzerland (ZRH2)!" Vantage announced on LinkedIn.
This campus is situated over 20 kilometers from Vantage's ZRH1 campus in Winterthur and is 15 minutes from Zurich Airport. Spread over three acres, the two-story facility offers a total of 226,000 square feet (21,000 sqm) of space and 24 MW of critical IT capacity. The company has reportedly invested more than CHF 370 million into the project, according to an announcement in April 2024.

Sustainability and Efficiency
Vantage's ZRH2 Zurich data center will serve hyperscalers, cloud providers, and large enterprises. ZRH2 will feature industry-leading Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) and Water Usage Effectiveness (WUE) to support energy-efficient operations.
Vantage has installed air source (ASHP) and water source (WSHP) heat pumps within ZRH2. These pumps will convert waste heat for use in conditioning administrative spaces, reducing external energy use. ZRH2 will also provide waste heat to a nearby hotel and seminar center.

Innovative Features
Additionally, ZRH2 will leverage rainwater infiltration and a green roof to minimise environmental impacts. It features a wood-finished facade designed to withstand the local environment's harsh seasons while aligning with the look and feel of the community.
