EXA Infrastructure Adds Fifth Transatlantic Route to Network Footprint
London-headquartered digital infrastructure platform connecting Europe and North America, EXA Infrastructure, announced last week that it has added a fifth transatlantic route to its network footprint. This addition is the Dunant cable, which connects the US and Europe via a southern corridor across the Atlantic. This investment follows EXA’s partnership with Bulk Fiber Networks, which includes the Havfrue subsea cable connecting the US to Norway and Denmark, and integrating it into EXA’s extensive European backbone.

Transatlantic Network Expansion

According to EXA Infrastructure, this new route complements EXA’s existing cables that connect Paris and Bordeaux in France to the large data centre clusters in Virginia Beach, Richmond, and Ashburn in the US. Furthermore, this new route provides excellent diversity compared to other transatlantic cables, and it also connects to EXA’s extensive European backbone, extending onwards to Madrid, Barcelona, and Marseille via distinct routes, as stated by the company.

“The transatlantic is the largest subsea market globally and with the anticipated growth in the market EXA is uniquely positioned to provide our customers with the greatest choice of diversity and availability across our five transatlantic routes,” stated EXA Infrastructure. “The addition of the Dunant cable to our portfolio, which is 400G and spectrum ready accelerates our mission to become the undisputed pan-European and transatlantic data centre to data centre connectivity provider.”
