Postpaid Tariff War: JioPostpaid Scheme Compared With Vodafone RED Plans

Until recently in May, Reliance Jio was causing havoc in the prepaid data tariff war with its very competitive pricing and unmatchable benefits in its plans. Other telcos were also making attempts to match the pricing of the Mukesh Ambani led company by launching new plans and revising their existing plans. All efforts of the companies were focused on retaining the existing subscriber base while also continuing to grow it at a constant pace. However, on May 15, Reliance Jio also stepped into the postpaid data tariff war by introducing the very popular Rs 199 ‘Zero Touch’ postpaid plan which comes with pre-activated international roaming services.

However, Vodafone India has also not surrendered in front of Reliance Jio. To counter Jio’s pricing and postpaid plans Vodafone has also rolled out the RED postpaid plans. The Vodafone RED plans start at Rs 399 and go up to Rs 999 for more data benefits and other additional services. The international calling packages start at Rs 1,299 and go as high as Rs 2,999.

Reliance Jio Zero Touch Postpaid Plan at Rs 199
Like we mentioned above, the special highlight about this plan is the pre-activated international roaming services which Reliance Jio provides. When consumers subscribe to the postpaid plan from Jio, they do not have to go through any hassle to activate their SIMs and their respective services. In terms of benefits, the plan bundles 100 SMS per day along with 25GB 4G data for one month. When the limit of 25GB is exhausted, users will be able to avail data at the nominal price of Rs 20 per GB instead of throttling the speed. There is also pre-activated international roaming at no additional security deposits in this plan.
