Since the start of Q2 2018, Bharti Airtel has been aggressively expanding its tariff portfolio. Now the telco has unified its lineup to match that of Reliance Jio's. Airtel now has wide-range of 1.4GB, 2GB and 3GB data per day plans to rival Jio's 1.5GB and 2GB data per day plans. The latest one added to the list the Rs 558 prepaid plan, which joins the 3GB data per day plan alongside the Rs 349 plan. Airtel is now offering 246GB data with this new tariff plan, keeping it in check with Jio's Rs 509 plan and Vodafone's Rs 569 prepaid tariff plan. With this Rs 558 prepaid plan, Airtel is offering a GB of data at just Rs 2.26, one of the lowest offerings in the industry right now.

Under this newly introduced Rs 558 plan, Airtel is providing 3GB of data per day, which takes the total data benefit to 246GB, unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit on a daily basis on weekly basis and lastly, it also offers 100 SMS per day for the entire validity period. The validity of this new plan, as mentioned is 82 days from the date of recharge.

Airtel has been launching new plans to take on the rival operators and also to increase its ARPU. This new plan from Airtel comes after the introduction of Vodafone's Rs 569 plan. Vodafone is also offering 3GB of data per day, unlimited voice calls with a cap of 250 minutes per day and 100 SMS per day for 84 days. With this plan, Vodafone brought down the per GB value to Rs 2.25, while Airtel's plan stands at Rs 2.26 per GB.

These two plans are introduced to take on Jio's Rs 509 plan which is currently offering 5GB data per day for a period of 28 days, which is underwhelming. That said, expect Reliance Jio to counter back at Airtel and Vodafone in the coming weeks.

On the flip side, Airtel is still providing the Rs 509 prepaid plan which offers 1.4GB data benefit per day, unlimited voice calls and 100 SMS per day for 90 days. But the Rs 558 plan is way better than the Rs 509 plan, albeit the slightly less validity period.

In other news, Airtel is offering 3GB data per day for 28 days with its Rs 349 prepaid plan that was introduced last year. Now the Rs 349 plan from Airtel gives 84GB of data, unlimited voice calls without any limit and 100 SMS per day. Reliance Jio is offering 3GB data per day with its Rs 299 prepaid plan.
