HMD Global will launch a new variant of the mid-range Nokia 7 smartphone at the MWC 2018 event next month. And the smartphone will be named as Nokia 7 Plus with upgraded internals and maybe with an 18:9 display as well. The Nokia 7 Plus has now paid a visit to the popular benchmarking site, Geekbench which confirmed the key specifications of the upcoming device. The key upgrade is the processor as the Nokia 7 Plus is now spotted with Snapdragon 660 SoC.

As you can in the image, the model name clearly shows Nokia 7 Plus. So, it's safe to assume that the listing is of the 7 Plus itself. Going into the details of the listing, the Nokia 7 Plus will be powered by the Snapdragon 660 chipset, a decent upgrade over the Nokia 7 which arrived with Snapdragon 630 SoC. Coupled to the chipset will be 4GB of RAM. However, there might be a 6GB of RAM variant as well, considering the fact that Nokia 7 arrived in a 6GB RAM variant too.

And the listing further says that the phone is running Android 8.0 Oreo at the time of benchmarking, so it' safe to assume the Nokia 7 Plus will run Android Oreo out of the box when it launches. In the benchmark, the device scored a respectable 1636 single-core score and 5902 multi-core score.

Recently, the latest Nokia Beta camera APK teardown revealed the names of upcoming Nokia smartphones. The smartphones in question are Nokia 1, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 4, and the flagship Nokia 9. While the Nokia 1 and Nokia 9 are appearing on the web on a regular basis, we haven't seen many details about the Nokia 4 and Nokia 7 Plus though.

But now, we have a good amount of details about the Nokia 7 Plus which will lead the HMD's 2018 mid-range lineup. The Nokia 4 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 450 chipset, but the launch date is unknown at the moment.

Talking about the Nokia 7 Plus, it may sport the same design as the Nokia 7, but we may see an 18:9 display on the front. Cameras might remain the same too. With that said, the Plus moniker will refer to the internals of the smartphone.

HMD Global has already confirmed its presence at the MWC 2018 event in February, and the company is expected to launch the flagship Nokia 9, entry-level Nokia 1 and the Nokia 7 Plus. Alongside these phones, other devices such as the Nokia 6 (2018) and the standard Nokia 7 may launch in global markets too.
